Our world has changed. Adapt or die…

Yes, our world has changed.  Can you feel it?

As of this writing, the U.S. government is telling us that the unemployment rate is around 9%.  The government calculates “unemployment” as people who have filed for unemployment benefits.  They don’t count the people who are “under-employed” or people who have lost their employment and can’t file again.

Some experts estimate that true unemployment is around 20%.  Those are crazy numbers… Great Depression numbers.

Huge debt problems, high gas prices (high “everything” prices), mortgage and housing problems, foreclosures, layoffs… just overall bad news.  The cost of college tuition is through the roof.

Add to that our poor retirement and college funds (have you saved enough to put your kids through school AND enough to retire comfortably?).

It has been drilled into our heads…

  • Go to school
  • Get a job
  • Work hard
  • Save money
  • Retire comfortably

How is that working out for you?  If you’re like most people, it’s not working out at all.

Here is a fact. Gone are the days of job security and working at a company for 40 years.  It’s not that we are in a “down” economy.  This is the “new economy“.  The good ‘ole days are not coming back. At least not the way you have been used to.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you feel secure at your job?
  • Are you happy with your current level of income?
  • Do you have a rock solid retirement fund?
  • Are you living the kind of lifestyle that you really want?

Families are struggling, stressed and unhappy.

According to a recent employees poll, one half of the workers polled said that were very unhappy with their job.  I think that number is extremely low.

Families are struggling, stressed and unhappy.

Here is what’s worse.  MOST will never do anything to change their circumstances.  You need to understand that as bad as things are and will continue to be, you will always have choices.

Victim vs. Responsibility

So many people have a victim mentality.  They want to blame their circumstances on anyone else but themselves. They whine and complain about anything and everything, but they just won’t change. If you are blaming your parents or your neighbors or the government for all of your problems, then you’re playing victim.

Do you know the definition of insanity?  Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

My mentor said to me, “for things to change for you, YOU must change.  For things to get better YOU must get better.”  Makes sense to me.

For things to change for you, YOU must change.  For things to get better, YOU must get better…

For every aspect of your life, you have choices.  You can choose steak or chicken for dinner, and you can choose to have a phenomenal life full of abundance.  Yes, it’s a simple choice.  Once you make that choice, create a plan and start to take action, then you are now taking responsibility.  Congratulations.  That is a great place to be.

Yes, the world has changed and you must adapt or die.  Don’t be a victim and don’t settle.  Make a decision, use your power and make some changes.  Now that you have found me, you are going to adapt.  Are you ready?
